When to recommend Jamworks

Provide DSA students the note taking support they need to succeed

1

Note taking support for SpLDs

SpLD students often require support to capture notes in class and refine them afterwards.

JamSlides now enables students to upload slides and take notes against each specific slide.

Jamworks’ Enhanced Notes feature turns their rough class notes into structured learning materials, so students can focus on engaging with the information after class.

“The pressure of note taking with my dyslexia was a huge barrier, and I was honestly thinking about quitting higher education. Jamworks completely removed that stress. It gave me the confidence to not only continue but to apply for my master’s degree. I have no words, it’s amazing.”

High quality STEM subject notes

Some students on STEM courses struggle to accurately note down the equations & formulas they need to revise from.

Unlike other DSA note taking tools, Jamworks includes complex mathematical notation from the lecture & slides in the note improvements it suggests for STEM students.

“I really like the definitions learning mode. I combine it with the key points and ask the AI to elaborate and put the two different parts together. It’s really handy for STEM because we have lots of definitions, mechanisms and organisms.”

Interactive & personalised learning experiences

Some DSA students experience heightened anxiety around asking questions in front of the class.

Jamworks helps overcome this barrier by enabling students to ask questions about their classes to a personal tutor that provides accurate answers sourced from their lectures and seminars.

“I think my focus has definitely improved since using Jamworks because of the summaries, key points and recording recaps. Ironically, having something that means you don’t have to focus as much actually helps you focus more. Because you’re worrying less about note taking and getting behind, so you’re actually able to take more information in, both in person and afterwards.”

Kamna always struggled to keep up with lectures due to language barriers.  After discovering Jamworks, she resolved to ensure that no student experiences the same struggles she did and made it her mission to bring Jamworks closer to students. Leveraging her marketing acumen, she’s now bridging the gap between disabled students and Jamworks.

Jamworks is easily my favourite assistive technology that we have purchased for our students. Students who are using the technology describe it as “life changing” and “a thousand times better than a peer notetaker.”

Noah Cooperider

Student Disability Services Coordinator, North Central College

Before we had Jamworks, note taking was a constant point of frustration for students on our caseload. I have personally witnessed student’s entire academics turn around with this tool. Students have cried in my office because they are so happy and relieved.

I adore Jamworks! I don’t feel overwhelmed with information from class – I can always go back and listen to what I need and have key points to remind myself of information!
